Patna Pirates lift trophy for second time, beat Jaipur Pink Panthers 37-29

Defending champions Patna Pirates will take on season 1 champion Jaipur Pink Panthers on July 31 in the final of Pro Kabaddi season 4. Match is to be played at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. Pirates faced Puneri Paltan in the first semifinal and emerged as the clear favourites after winning the game by 37-33, whereas playing in the second semifinal, Jaipur Pink Panthers thumped home side Telugu Titans by 34 – 24.
Patna who made it into the consecutive final, ended the league stage as table toppers with 52 points after winning 10 from 14 games. Patna’s captain Dharmaraj Cheralathan has had a successful campaign as his team has performed well in all departments. Key player – Pardeep Narwal is only behind Telugu Titans’ Rahul Chaudhari in raid points race. Pardeep has 115 raid points and only trails by 13 points at number two position. While playing under the lime-light of Pardeep and Rajesh Mondal, captain Dharmaraj has managed to perform extremely well as he has seven Super Tackles to his name.
However, Jaipur Pink Panthers- led by Jasvir Singh have had a mix of all. Strong display from their defenders and raiders, Panthers were placed third in the group stage with 8 wins and 47 points. Captain Jasvir Singh continued his superb form throughout the season as he has 69 raid points in his kitty. While Defender Amit Hooda has had 44 successful tackles and equals Bengaluru Bulls’ Mohit Chhillar in successful tackle ranking.
In the history of Pro Kabaddi, it will be the first time any team will lift the trophy for the second time.
While It will be Fire Birds taking on Storm Queens in the final of inaugural season of Pro Kabaddi women’s League on July 31.
